Simple Ways to Make Your Child's Lunch Special

For many parents, sending their child to school with a lunch is a practical way they can send their love with their child. Many moms and dads leave notes in their child's lunch box with a simple, "I love you!", but there are some amazingly creative ways to send that love in fun and interesting avenues.

Try the following, next time you want to do something special for your little ones at lunchtime!

  • Write directly on a banana's peel. How fun would it be to see your lunch has a message written directly on it?!
  • Create a bento box. This is for the moms or dads that have a ton of creativity in the kitchen. The idea is you create an animal or theme using the food. Click here for an awesome idea!
  • Get a box of football or other collectible cards. Include one or two a day in the lunch. You could also do this with stickers.
  • Use a large pastry or cookie cutter to cut the sandwich into a fun shape.
  • Draw something fun on a napkin you include.
  • For moms of kindergartners: If your child had a favorite snack at home, send that in their box as a special reminder of home.
  • Include a small toy like a plastic dinosaur or small toy car.
  • Include a riddle for them to solve about something fun you will be doing this weekend on Fridays.
I hope you and your kiddo have a blast this school year and many fun lunches to come!
