6 Fun things to do with Food Coloring



Food coloring is a huge staple that any parent should have in thier cupboards.Not only is it great for making colored frosting for cookies, there is so much you can do with it in play!
Try out these fun things to do with food coloring and yourkid's eyes will just light up!



1. Make "Rainbow Spaghetti". Add cooked noodles to a bowl filled with food dye and water. Let them sit for about 15 minutes.



2. Make a mini "Lava Lamp". Take some oil and water and put it into small plastic pop bottle. Use more oil than water. Add some food coloring and a few peices of Alka-Seltzer. The colored oil will bubble up

3. Do a fun bath! Make the water blue and let your little pirate sail the seas with his toy boats or make it pink and let your little princess have a royal bath.

4.Show little scientists how flowers can change colors! Just get a while flower like a rose, daisy or carnation. Drop s few drops of food coloring in the water and watch them transform overnight!

5. Show little ones just learning thier colors how to make secondary colors in water. Drop yellow, red and blue into seperate cups. Watch them get excited to see them change to green, purple and orange.

6. Make Homemade playdough in minuets with this simple recipe. All you need is cream of tartar, water, flour, oil and food coloring!
